Slumber Parties– the grown up version
I don’t understand why more grown women don’t have slumber parties. They are fun. Less bra-freezing and more martini chilling. And, after having children, there is no need to put someone’s hand in warm water to make them pee their pants.. it happens naturally.
I had a slumber party last night with 3 high school girlfriends. (yes.. it was a Tuesday night.. don’t be judgy)
What do 40 year old women do with/ to each other after 25+ years of friendship?
We eat cheese.
We go through the liquor cabinet.
We waiver between wine & martinis.
We try to contribute corks to the ever growing cork wall.
We break out torture devices and remove unsightly hairs from each other’s faces.
We laugh at each other’s pain.
We drink on the pool table.
We smoke on the balcony.
We note that jumping from the 2nd floor balcony into the pool is probably not a good idea.
We start to see double and decide that lights are pretty.
We wake up in the “guest suite” and find a toiletry basket and the funniest house rules ever.
We laugh. We talk. We laugh some more. We stumble and we bumble. We stay up too late and wake up too early. We can’t wait for the next one

Ok, I need to have a slumber party!
I’m jealous and disgusted at the same time.
Heading out for a girls weekend getaway and slumber party on FRIDAY morning!! Can’t wait!!

Sounds like so much fun! I echo the other sentiments — jealous, love the cork wall, etc. I had to de-fuzz my own face last night and I have a feeling it’s more fun to do with others. Or, at least, demented and sad but social.

Does that “rules” sheet say no sex? That’s one way to make sure guests don’t stay too long. Going a day or two, sure. But vacation for more days than that without some fun is no vacation at all.
Slumber parties/girls weekends are the only way I survive being a Mom!!!
And yes, adult slumber parties are way more fun!
