Sliding Doors ~ Sponsored Post {alternate title, I want these terribly}

Y’all know I don’t do too many sponsored posts and am super selective to what I publish.  This post came to me at the perfect time as I’m going through this whole kitchen remodel and AM currently replacing the existing doors. My plan was to only replace the french doors in the kitchen.  Now I’m seriously budgeting for some of these for the hallway and my closet.  The look amazing.  I’m attaching pics of a few of my favorites, but they have styles for every taste..  I’m a little shabby chic in case you didn’t know ;)

Sliding Doors, a Great Way to Update the Look of Your Home

A great way to improve the look and feel of your home is by adding small changes that will have a big impact, if you are in a room that is smaller than average you can place mirrors on the wall to make it look bigger, If your living room really large you can add a rug to the floor to make the space look more put together, and if you want to add a modern touch to an older looking house you can place sliding doors to separate the house into different sections. These are just a few ways to make your home look great without too much effort.

Sliding doors and sliding partitions have been around for a long time, but in recent years they have started to become more popular among urban and suburban households. They allow homeowners to utilize the space that would have been taken up by the opening and closing of a traditional door, they are easy to install and maintain and they add a contemporary touch to any house or apartment. They are considered a specialty product and aren’t usually available at many retailers. So if you are interested in purchasing a sliding door you might have to go through a manufacturer who specializes in producing sliding doors and sliding door hardware.

The benefit of a sliding door is that they are durable and are great for people who either have children or elderly family members who need to get around. They literally slide right over and are super easy to use. With traditional doors if you have arthritis it might be difficult to grab the handle or knob to open a door, children sometimes start to roughhouse and might want to slam doors, get their fingers caught in door cracks, or run into open doors that might get in the way of their play, but with a sliding door you don’t have to worry about these issues. Kids will be able to get around the house easier and will avoid injury. If it ever breaks or is damaged, it is easy to replace the sliding door hardware and usually costs a lot less than replacing an entire door.

So if you’re looking to drastically improve the way your house looks and feels consider getting sliding doors installed, they look great and are very practical for every home.

  1. Ooooh, I love the first picture. I have never thought of doing anything like this before. I am currently in the process of building a new home and am looking for some DIY and less expensive ideas to add some cool features to our new home after it is built. I have started a new business (www.sweetmelissasfragrancefactory.com) so am looking for some things to add to our home that would give it some architectural detail but not cost an arm and a leg. Plus, we have three kids, and these doors would be perfect to close off the playroom. This is awesome!
