Perfect children, cheese and chocolate.
I’m still a little buzzed from last night’s dinner. Not boozey buzzed… happy buzzed. I surprised the boys with dinner at The Melting Pot. If you know me at all, you know that I do NOT eat at chain restaurants. There are a few exceptions.. 1) if someone invites me 2) when Chili’s donates to St. Jude 3) Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and 4) The Melting Pot. I am a sucker for fondue.
My boys are fun to take to any restaurant. They are adventurous eaters. They generally use their manners. And they get overly excited to have soda. I have never taken them for fondue. Last night was Wednesday. Just a normal rainy Wednesday night. We dressed up a little and hit The Melting Pot.
You know those nights with your kids (they are few and far between) where everything is perfect? Where the kids are cute and funny and clever and clean and use manners and are grateful and kind to one another?? You know THOSE nights? Well, last night was THAT night. Perfect, funny, handsome, clever kids. Plus cheese and chocolate.
Number One literally said “Mom, there are no words for this… this is amazing… thank you so much for bringing us here”. Number Three asked if it can be our new “date night” restaurant. Number Two asked for lobster and then pretended that he stabbed himself in the neck with his fondue fork.
This morning, getting ready for school, Number One walked up to me in the kitchen, put his arms around me, kissed my cheek and said “Seriously Mom.. last night was really fun. Thank you”
I don’t know if it was the 2 hour dinner conversation or the food itself or the suprise of a mid-week fun dinner…. but something made last night magical for my boys and I. And nights like that don’t happen too often.
They want to go back as soon as daddy gets home…

Ok I’ve read two mushy posts in the last 10 minutes. Is cute. But. Knock that shit off.
I am so not there yet! I avoid restaurants like the pelage. Plus my children live off chicken & pizza.. When will i get to go out with my kids & still love them in the morning?
