Nostalgia

Number One needs a pic of himself NOW and as a toddler for his 5th grade graduation party.  And they have to be real pictures… not electronic.   Since I haven’t possesed a “real” picture in 5 years, I had to go into “the box”.   “The Box” is what I have where you rest of you have “baby books” and “scrapbooks”.  “The Box” is a big jumbo pile of the first 5 years of motherhood.  Nothing is labeled.  There are no dates.  No cutesie sayings.  No bows.  Just a box full of pictures.

I’ve told you that I have very little memory of my first several years of motherhood due to the whole  3 kids in 3 1/2 years, full-time job, traveling husband situation.   Looking at those pictures made my heart hurt.  And be happy.  It made my heart happy-hurt.

So, I’m going to break my cardinal HMM rule.

I’m going to show you a few pics of my kids.

Of course, it doesn’t really count since they are so old and my children don’t look like this anymore..  but still… it’s pics of my kiddos…

They were so flipping cute..

Number ONE and Number THREE . NOTE: I had a whole other baby in between these two!!
Hold on now… that Dinosaur will fuck you up!
Number Three’s 3rd trip to New Orleans before he was 6 months ;)
Two, Three and my neice who is 5 weeks older than Three.
Number Two’s 3rd birthday

They are so stinkin cute. I can’t decide who looks like who. I thought Number Three looked like Seven, but that last picture of him looks like you. They are so different and still all look alike. Love it. They are the second, third, and fourth cutest boys I’ve ever seen.

I don’t have any baby books either. Three kids, two boxes of pictures. No dates, no organization. I don’t even have an actual printed picture of my third kid. They are all on sim cards or memory cards. I lost most of his baby pictures when I lost my phone. Poor kid.

Cute babies! I have the box too, only it is boxes! My family feels I am the keeper of the memories…all evidence to the contrary. I have everything stuffed in unmarked boxes in every free corner of my closet.
One day I WILL scrap book! One day!

I love love love them! And can’t wait till one of my daughters marries(hooks up with) and has babies with one of your boys. I want to be a crazy grand-ma with you! :)

  3. SO cute! I can’t even pick a favorite. :)

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! I’ve got 5 kids, 3 are ours, 2 are his and all of them are with us. I’ve got some great pics stashed in shoe boxes of the oldest 3. The 4th has a book. A pretty darn good book! My poor youngest, he has absolutely none!!! I’ve been known to lie to him, and tell him his oldest brothers pics are him, because it really matters to him and they’re clones anyway. Sometimes a slacker mother has to do what a slacker mother has to do…

They were indeed cute! I hope they retained some of their adorableness. 5the grade graduation??? What’s up with that? I’m (not)preparing for my son’s 2nd annual preschool graduation. Does this crap ever end?

I have baby books, two really beautiful ones. They are immaculate and….empty *mommy fail* I envy moms who have time to scrapbook and craft beautiful keepsakes for their kids. I’m usually too busy picking the cheerios out of my toddlers hair while trying to nurse my infant one handed. Your kids are freakin adorable:)

Did you have 3 in 3 1/2 years intentionally? I would have had to be committed…and I’m not kidding!

    1. Hot Mess Mom says:

      uh.. NO.
One and Two are 2 year, 4 months apart.. planned and perfect. And then when Two was 6 months old, I found out I was pregnant again. yup..
