Million MILF March- The People

I’m having a hard time finding a starting point to write about this weekend.   There was just so much.  i am physically exhausted.  I am emotionally drained.  I am overwhelmed (once again).  I am super happy and I keep crying.

I’m in the middle of an emotional orgasm.  I need to get it all out.

I’m going to write about the weekend in pieces.  Otherwise, it’ll never happen.

So…  today..   the people.

There were over 200 women at the Million MILF March from all over the country & Canada.  I knew fewer than 50 of them prior to this event.  People came in small groups, ,large groups, and a few brave souls came alone.

I assumed that most people who would attend an event called the Million MILF March hosted by a blogger called Hot Mess Mom would know exactly what they were getting into.  However, there was a slight bit of apprehension.

Who are these people?  What if they stalk me?  I want to meet people but I don’t want them up my ass all weekend.

My worries were unwarranted.  When I tell you that every person I met was more unbelievably awesome than the person before, it’s not a lie.   We had wives, mothers, widows and divorcees.  We had cancer survivors and cancer fighters.   We had some in their 20′s and some in their 60′s.  They were all beautiful.  They were all low-maintenance.  They were all there for the same reason…  to spend a day or a weekend in Cartoon World.  To be silly.  To eat and drink and be merry.  To dance.  To laugh.  To be hot and messy.

We laughed until our stomachs hurt.  We drank until our livers hurt.  We stared at half-naked (and fully naked) bartenders until our libidos hurt.   We danced with Bigfoot.  We danced with each other.   There were men there.  We danced with them.  No one was creepy.  There were no douche-canoes.  It was quite possibly the greatest group of “strangers” I’ve ever been around.

I got onto Facebook last night and for 5 hours just watched pictures and connections and friend requests and wall postings.  To and from women (and men) who had never met before this weekend and are now ever connected.  By choice.  Not by circumstances.. not by children or husbands or jobs or illness.  250 strangers who are now friends because they couldn’t help but fall in love with each other this weekend.

There is a reason I have an online existence.   I don’t have a super lot of tolerance for people in real life.  I have a very low bullshit tolerance and no use for drama.  I don’t meet 250 that I actually, truly, sincerely like in a decade, much less a weekend.   Until now.

There is more.   There is so much more.   My husband flew in for 24 hour to surprise me.  Brought me flowers, gave me a kiss, told me Happy Birthday and then said “go.. do your thing..  don’t entertain me..  I’m proud of you”.   He hung with old friends, he made new ones.  He stayed at a different hotel.  He’s the bomb-diggity.

Diary of a Mad Woman and Old Dog New Tits both posted their accounts of the weekend.  Go read them.   I’m not ready yet.  I’m getting there..  but I’m not there yet.

{oh, and during this whole ‘event planning/ party throwing month… I haven’t written or whored and now am down to #5 on TMB.. so click that banner below}

You, my friend, did an amazing job with this event. I can honestly tell you it was the BEST weekend I’ve had in a good long while. Running into friends after coming back, all I hear is “You needed that weekend!” Can I make you cry now?!! LOL You will probably never know how much you have given me, with just your encouragement. Being a part of this wonderful event brought my life to a whole new level of awesome. Oh yeah, and I rather enjoyed being a minor celebrity for the weekend! :-)

I have no clue how you’re going to top it for next year, but I know you will, I know that fo sho! You did an awesome job, you really really really did. Next year we will make it so you don’t have to have all that diarrhea and such during the planning, LOL. I LURVE YA HARD GIRL…I JUST DO!!

OMG !! I love what you just wrote! I have total envy lust and want to come next year! I promise not to be “up your ass all weekend.”… as long as you hit the bar with the stripping bartenders again! oh-la-la!

I like that you don’t deal with bullshit in real life – I always say my bullshit meter is running high and sometimes explodes – then I have bullshit all over everyone!!!

You Rock! Amazing job. What a cool thing you’ve done – made a group of people connect – and made some new friends. All while having a hell of a good time! Rock on sista!

I can’t wait until next year. I feel like we still still need to have a GNO somewhere between Tampa and Orlando after you recover (just so I’ll stop whining about missing the festivities). Thank you for sharing all your hot and messy photos as well as the asstastic photos of your bartenders…Those made my weekend. :)

  10. Ron Pierce says:

Well said. I didn’t know what to expect either but I knew we were gonna have a good time. Everyone we met were wonderful fun loving people who didn’t need a reason to party. I like that, and look forward to next year.

After all of my friends copped out on me for the weekend, I went to the Friday night party alone. I met your cuz Denise on a shared ice chest top dancing in front of Henry’s Bar on Magazine for Thoth parade. That’s how I knew about Hot Mess Mom and learned about the Million MILF March. My pre- K next door neighbor Lori Monahan Borden was at the Saturday Pub Crawl and I’ve known Julie and Kimberly from NOLA Hooping. Beyond that I only knew people who knew other people and met a ton of new best friends. I spent Friday night with two ladies, June and Vicky from “Kenner bra.” They didn’t know me from Adam and yet they invited me to spend the night with them at the Sheraton. We left the party, cut up and danced at harrah’s then met other MILF’s on Canal St. Don’t know when i’ve had more fun. I loved “Cougar Bait” and his wife and friends, the “40′s girls pyramid” and I’m in my 50′s. I hula hooped like a freak and climbed my first “fitness pole” at the age of 52 and enjoyed laughing at myself. The people I met were awesome. I think we ALL live by the “Don’t Judge Me” motto. I am recruiting for next year’s event! Thanks for everything D!

Ditto what Madwoman and everyone else said! And I know I told you several times on Saturday, but you really did do a fantastic job putting this together, and I am soooooo glad I came in town for it! You can take da girl out New Orleans, but you can’t take New Orleans out da girl. I miss my city! Great time with old friends and new, and this mutha is still on a MILF high! Thank you again, you fabulous hot mess! Can’t wait till next time…..

  13. Gooley says:

I can’t even imagine how you are “coming down” from the weekend. I only wish for you is that you find a way to take it all in. You created something so amazingly special …so rare and beautiful. I usually feel hungover and compromised after a long weekend… This energy has lifted my spirits.
I wanna give you a huge hug!
    Love you:)

  14. Lindsey says:

I can’t wait for next year, lady!! Congrats on your HUGE success!
    xoxox

  15. Crystal says:

Love the pics on Facebook! I have to say…here’s to devine buttocks! LOL

Looks like you had a blast!

  16. It’s amazing what how many people you have touched in 12 months. Love your writing style and I am inspired by you!

  17. Next year we need to all pitch in and pay for a sitter. For….people who may need sitting. I won’t say any names but it rhymes with Shmooley.
I want to say something like, instead of “boy genius he’s a gay genius”, but really, he’s just a boy. Who’s gay. Except when he’s not.

This weekend was amazing. I love you and the special girls who will remain anonymous (USF). I can’t wait for next year and I have also been crying intermittently.

    1. Hot Mess Mom says:
