i’m giving up on my dream

My dream is dead.  It’s very sad.

I really really REALLY wanted a pair of red booties for this winter season.  I did.  I do.  I did.  Since I cannot be trusted to shop in person, I only shop online.  Over the past 6 weeks.. SIX WEEKS..  I have ordered, received, and returned 5… FIVE… FIVE pair of red booties.  FIVE!  In six weeks.  All are too high, too narrow, too big, too small, too trashy or too expensive for the quality.  All are wrong.  I took one last chance..  I ordered a 6th pair… I had high hopes.  I was disappointed.

I guess I am not supposed to rock the red booties this year.  What a bummer.  My 2012 winter clodhopper dream is dead.  Damn it.

Okay..  as I’m attaching pictures to this post, I just really need some damned red booties..  ONE last chance..  just saw these..  unsure about the fringe, but I’m gonna give it a shot.

If they are comfy, i’ll deal with the fringe.. if not.. the 2012 winter red bootie dream is officially dead and I will give it up for good.  ;(

  1. Soooo cute! I guess in theory…i don’t think they would look so sexy with my sweatpants and old man cardigan. Find the right pair and make them yours forever…or until you look back and realize they were a mistake, then we shall never speak of them again.

maybe its your frankenfoot that doesn’t want you to have them but those fringe ones are screaming the 80′s

I’m ADDICTED to boots & look fowrad to fall/winter just so I can wear them! ;-)Have you tried overstock.com, Burlington or DSW??

  4. Julie says:

I tried a couple of years ago. I thought I had found the “perfect” pair. Then they didn’t have my size. They couldn’t order them. What about this pair ma’am? Nothing worked. Nothing was right. I ended up with another pair of black heeled booties.

Lesson learned: I cannot rock colored boots – black is best.

  5. Great minds think alike! I have been a crazy bootie girl this fall, too, but not for red ones — those are way too daring for me. ;) I went for a grey-green pair…see my blog post for the 6 pairs I had at home with me, from zappos and shoes.com and amazon…my husband thought I was insane. (I might be?!) Have been wearing the 2 I kept (basic black ones, too) all the time and am very happy. Good luck!

Where the hell do you wear these? I’m impressed.

I’m assuming that you actually want to wear these boots out of the house and not just lounge around in them making your spouse salivate? If you manage to find a pair that are just a titch too small – if they have ANY sort of give to them, you can wear them with a pair of thick sports socks and use a hairdryer to heat them up – they might just stretch! I used that technique on a pair of platform stillettos I had to wear for a wedding two weeks ago and they fit me now.

Have you tried shoedazzle.com? They have super cute shoes for under $50 and I’ve bought several pair successfully there! Now you have me wanting to rock some red boots or booties! They would be so cool with jeans, leggins….once again your an inspiration!
Question is MMM going to be an annual event in N.O.? It’s my home town as well and if I hadn’t had foot surgery and had my own frankenfoot I so would have been there thinking I need to plan a girls trip for next year if it’s happening again!

Is there a set weekend in Sept yet? My bff and I are wanting to adjust our annual French Quarter trip from Aug to Sept if it can work w/my schedule…a milf pub crawl for a good cause is right up our alley.

I’m working right now with the Nola CVB.. I would like to do one of the last 2 weeekends in September, but it will depend on when I can get the best hotel rates. Will have firm dates by Jan 1.. but plan on late Sept.. ;)

MMM is it going to be an annual event? I had my own frankenfoot or I would have been there myself. NOLA is my home town as well.

those boots aren’t made for walkin!
those boots ARE made for someone with kankles … & that my friend you are not
